Yard Associate

Location: Monroe, NC 28110

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Overtime: Available based on workload and business needs

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Yard Associate to join a busy outdoor materials yard in Monroe, NC. This position is responsible for organizing, moving, staging, and preparing materials for shipment while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a lumber yard, construction supply yard, warehouse yard, or similar industrial environment and be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, stage, and maintain inventory throughout the yard

• Operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and position materials safely

• Strap and band lumber and other materials to prepare orders for shipment and transport

• Use a chainsaw and other approved cutting equipment as needed

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries

• Verify materials and prepare orders according to work instructions

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and operational guidelines

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production and shipping goals

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a lumber yard, construction supply yard, industrial yard, warehouse, or similar environment preferred

• Previous forklift operating experience required

• Experience using a chainsaw or similar cutting equipment preferred

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday

• Strong attention to safety and workplace procedures

• Reliable transportation required

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus

Additional Information

• Steel toe boots are required

• Overtime may be available based on business needs

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to changing weather conditions, moving equipment, noise, dust, and active material handling operations. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
