Material Handler – 1st Shift

Location: Troutman, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM until finish
Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Material Handlers to support warehouse and yard operations at a facility that stores and distributes construction materials. This is a physically demanding role that requires frequent lifting, carrying, moving, and organizing heavy materials throughout the workday.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both indoors and outdoors, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and teamwork. Candidates with forklift experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials by hand and with material handling equipment
• Perform frequent heavy lifting throughout the shift
• Safely transport materials to designated staging, storage, and shipping areas
• Assist with receiving, inventory organization, and order preparation
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when authorized
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and warehouse guidelines
• Work collaboratively with team members and assist in other warehouse duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, material handling, lumber yard, construction, or forklift experience preferred
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 80 pounds or more on a regular basis
• Experience operating forklifts is preferred; training opportunities may be available for qualified candidates
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the entire shift
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain when required
• Strong attendance record and dependable transportation
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply
