Position Summary
Alianza Staffing is seeking dependable Outdoor Warehouse Material Handlers for a one-day assignment in Leland, North Carolina. Workers will assist with unloading, sorting, organizing, and palletizing boxes from a 53-foot trailer.
This position will be performed outdoors for the entire shift. Candidates must be prepared to work in the weather conditions present on the day of the assignment, which may include heat, humidity, direct sunlight, wind, or light rain.
This role requires continuous physical activity and the ability to safely lift and move boxes weighing 50 pounds or more. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with unloading boxes from a 53-foot trailer
- Lift, carry, sort, and organize boxes weighing 50 pounds or more
- Re-sort products according to provided instructions
- Stack and arrange boxes securely on pallets
- Keep products organized to prevent damage and workplace hazards
- Prepare completed pallets to be loaded into a shipping container
- Work safely around forklifts and other material-handling equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized outdoor work area
- Follow all instructions provided by the onsite supervisor
- Comply with company safety procedures and workplace policies
- Complete other related material-handling duties as assigned
Forklift and Equipment Safety
A forklift will be used by authorized personnel to unload the trailer and move completed pallets into a shipping container. Temporary Material Handlers will not be permitted to operate a forklift unless they are properly trained, certified, and specifically authorized by the onsite supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be available to report to the Leland, NC location by 7:30 AM
- Must be available to complete the entire 8 to 10-hour assignment
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors for the entire shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move boxes weighing 50 pounds or more
- Ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be dependable, punctual, and ready to work
- Warehouse, loading, unloading, palletizing, or general labor experience is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods. Workers must be able to frequently bend, reach, squat, twist, lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the shift.
Employees must be able to safely lift and move boxes weighing 50 pounds or more and perform physical work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Outdoor Work Environment
The entire assignment will be performed outdoors in a loading, unloading, and distribution area. Workers may be exposed to heat, humidity, direct sunlight, wind, light rain, dust, noise, moving equipment, forklifts, and other conditions commonly found in outdoor warehouse and loading environments.
Candidates should review the weather forecast before reporting and dress appropriately for the expected conditions. The assignment may be postponed or modified if severe weather creates unsafe working conditions.
Required PPE and Work Attire
- Steel-toe work boots are required
- Weather-appropriate work clothing is required
- Clothing should allow safe movement while lifting and handling materials
- Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on worksite safety policies
- Sunscreen, a hat, and protective clothing are recommended for outdoor sun exposure
