General Maintenance and Groundskeeper

Location: Myrtle Beach, SC 29572
Pay: Starting at $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Friday through Tuesday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Days Off: Wednesday and Thursday
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Permanent

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and professional General Maintenance and Groundskeeper for an upscale residential high-rise property. This position is responsible for general property maintenance, groundskeeping, pool cleaning, and maintaining clean, safe, and attractive common areas.

The ideal candidate will have maintenance or groundskeeping experience, a professional appearance, and a friendly, service-oriented attitude. Certified Pool Operator certification is strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor property repairs.
• Inspect common areas, grounds, and equipment for maintenance or safety concerns.
• Complete basic painting, drywall, plumbing, fixture, door, and lock repairs.
• Maintain entrances, walkways, parking areas, landscaping, and exterior spaces.
• Remove trash, leaves, debris, and other materials from the grounds.
• Clean and maintain the pool, pool deck, furniture, and surrounding areas.
• Report major repairs, pool-equipment concerns, property damage, and safety hazards to management.
• Keep tools, supplies, maintenance rooms, and storage areas organized.
• Respond professionally and courteously to residents, guests, vendors, and management.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records as required.
• Follow all safety, chemical-handling, and property procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, groundskeeping, pool, resort, condominium, apartment, or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Certified Pool Operator certification is highly preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair procedures.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Professional appearance, friendly attitude, and respectful demeanor.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Availability to work the required Friday-through-Tuesday schedule.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely use ladders, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, sunlight, and changing weather conditions.
• Ability to safely work around pool chemicals and cleaning products.
