2nd Shift Press Brake Operator
Location: Gastonia, NC 28056
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour (DOE)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Press Brake Operator to join a manufacturing team in Gastonia, NC. This position is responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to fabricate metal components according to production specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to work instructions and production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and measuring specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and materials for each production run.
- Enter or adjust machine settings using CNC controls or other machine interfaces as required by the production process.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to help maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect completed parts using measuring tools to verify they meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on equipment and report mechanical concerns to supervision.
- Maintain an organized work area and ensure materials are available to support production needs.
- Accurately complete production records and report quality or equipment concerns as appropriate.
- Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical training in machining, metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience operating a press brake, CNC equipment, or other industrial machinery is preferred.
- Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, angle gauges, or similar inspection tools.
- Basic computer skills for entering machine settings or production information are preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform work accurately while maintaining production and quality standards.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving equipment, industrial noise, dust, metal materials, and varying temperatures. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned job duties.
Physical Requirements

- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with team assistance or mechanical equipment when appropriate.
- Safely operate manufacturing equipment and use measuring tools.
- Maintain visual attention to detail when inspecting parts and verifying measurements.
Compensation
$17 per hour
