2nd Shift Powder Coat Painter

Location: Gastonia, NC 28056
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour DOE

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Powder Coat Painter to join a manufacturing team in Gastonia, NC. In this role, you will help prepare, coat, and finish metal components while following established production and quality standards. The ideal candidate values safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and completing other surface preparation tasks as needed.
• Apply powder coating using manual electrostatic spray equipment while maintaining consistent coverage and quality.
• Load and unload parts throughout the powder coating process.
• Operate curing ovens according to established procedures and production requirements.
• Inspect finished products to verify they meet quality standards and complete touch-ups or rework when appropriate.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain powder coating equipment and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in powder coating, industrial painting, manufacturing, or a related production environment is preferred.
• Technical or vocational training related to industrial finishing is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform work accurately while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to industrial equipment, moving machinery, dust, noise, varying temperatures, and paint or coating materials. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn while performing assigned duties.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with team assistance or mechanical equipment when appropriate.
• Safely operate production equipment and handle materials throughout the workday.
