Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Hand Stamping Operator with hands-on manufacturing experience to join a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment in Gastonia, NC.
The Hand Stamping Operator will operate manual and pneumatic stamping equipment to mark, form, position, and process metal components according to production specifications. This role requires attention to detail, consistent quality, safe equipment operation, and the ability to meet daily production expectations.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of hands-on manufacturing, production, or related industrial experience.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, understands the importance of accuracy and quality, and is comfortable working around industrial machinery in a production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate manual, hand-operated, and pneumatic stamping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, position, align, and remove metal components from stamping fixtures and workstations.
- Stamp part numbers, identification marks, symbols, or other required information onto metal components according to specifications.
- Follow work orders, production instructions, drawings, and established procedures.
- Inspect completed parts for accuracy, proper markings, defects, and overall quality.
- Use basic measuring and inspection tools, including tape measures, gauges, and calipers, as required.
- Identify and separate nonconforming or defective parts.
- Maintain consistent production output while meeting established quality standards.
- Sort, count, stack, label, and package completed parts for the next stage of production or shipment.
- Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report mechanical, quality, or safety concerns to supervision.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, and other production team members.
- Perform additional manufacturing or production duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 1 year of hands-on manufacturing, production, metalworking, or related industrial experience is required.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production facility is required.
- Experience operating hand presses, stamping equipment, pneumatic presses, punch presses, or similar production machinery is strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate equipment and follow established work instructions.
- Ability to use basic measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
- Ability to perform basic quality inspections and identify visible defects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining consistent quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to understand and follow workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work the full Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM schedule and overtime when required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular physical activity in a manufacturing environment. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The role may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently using hands and fingers to handle, position, grip, and manipulate metal parts and equipment.
- Performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
- Frequently bending, reaching, stooping, and moving throughout the work area.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Working around industrial machinery, metal components, and production equipment.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position is performed in an active manufacturing and production environment. The work area may include machinery noise, moving equipment, metal components, and other conditions commonly associated with industrial manufacturing.
Employees are expected to follow all established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in designated production areas.
