Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Availability: Weekend availability required
Overtime: May be required based on business needs
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Houseman to support the housekeeping and hospitality team at a hotel property in the Myrtle Beach area. This position plays an important role in maintaining clean, organized, and welcoming guest areas while assisting housekeeping staff with daily operations.
The ideal candidate has previous hotel or hospitality experience, strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, lobby areas, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and back-of-house areas.
- Assist housekeeping staff with removing linens, collecting trash, and restocking supplies.
- Deliver towels, linens, amenities, and other requested items to guest rooms or departments.
- Keep housekeeping closets, carts, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized.
- Remove trash, debris, and used linens from assigned areas.
- Assist with light cleaning and housekeeping support as needed.
- Respond to guest and team member requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, damages, safety issues, or lost items to management.
- Support the team during high occupancy, busy periods, and special events.
- Work overtime when needed based on business demands.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of previous hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a houseman, housekeeping attendant, janitorial worker, porter, or hospitality support team member is helpful.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting as needed.
- Carrying linens, supplies, trash, and other housekeeping-related items.
- Working in guest areas, service areas, and back-of-house spaces.
