Position Overview

A manufacturing facility in Gastonia is seeking a dependable Clinch Nut Helper to support daily production operations. This position assists machine operators with installing clinch nuts, fasteners, and related hardware into fabricated metal parts according to production instructions, specifications, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, comfortable handling metal components, and able to perform repetitive production duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Clinch Nut Machine Operator with daily production activities.
• Load and unload metal parts, components, and materials.
• Position parts correctly before clinch nuts or fasteners are installed.
• Verify that the correct fastener size and type are used for each production order.
• Follow work instructions, production travelers, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform basic measurements using a tape measure, calipers, gauges, or other inspection tools.
• Inspect completed parts for proper fastener placement, alignment, damage, and visible defects.
• Separate and report defective or incorrectly processed parts.
• Keep the machine operator supplied with materials, parts, tools, and hardware.
• Count, organize, label, stack, and move completed parts.
• Assist with basic machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers as directed.
• Monitor equipment and report unusual sounds, jams, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
• Meet daily production and quality expectations.
• Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, machine helper, or metal fabrication experience is preferred.
• Clinch nut, PEM fastener, press, or hardware installation experience is a plus.
• Ability to understand basic measurements and perform basic math.
• Ability to identify basic hardware and fastener sizes is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and overtime when required.
• Willingness to learn machine controls, production procedures, and inspection requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently use hands and arms to handle, position, and inspect parts.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, metal materials, and moving machinery.
